La vie de Jesus [Masters of Cinema edition, Region 2 PAL format]] Review

La vie de Jesus [Masters of Cinema edition, Region 2 PAL format]] Feature

  • these girls love hot cum
  • these girls will fuck anything
  • this is just hot
One of the great debut films of recent times, Bruno Dumont's LA VIE DE JÉSUS [THE LIFE OF JESUS] presents life's brutality and exhilaration played out by turns within the quarters of a tiny Flemish country town. Here, positioned in relative isolation from the rest of so-called cultural Europe, the connections between individuals will take on a physical power inflected by boredom, by desperation, and by urges as raw as the earth. Freddy and Marie (played by David Douche and Marjorie Cottreel in astonishing performances) are two teenagers with their futures uncertain and their present undefined. They ride motorbikes, they have sex - communication like any other sort. But in their hometown of Bailleul in Flanders, where news from the world-at-large disappears just as quickly as it drifts in, death proves to be inescapable, and decidedly permanent. As the film's powerful climax unfolds, the viewer will come away with his or her own interpretation of how the life of Christ has figured into the story of Freddy and Marie a contemplation on the magnitude of mercy. With its frank, honest depictions of the body in the course of the sexual act, LA VIE DE JÉSUS announced the emergence of a powerful philosophical intelligence and a master of dramatic control onto the scene of world cinema. Winner of the prestigious BFI Sutherland Trophy, Camera d'Or at Cannes, the Prix Jean Vigo, European Discovery of the Year at the European Film Awards, amongst many others, The Masters of Cinema Series is proud to present Bruno Dumont's feature debut for the first time on home video in the UK in a director-approved edition. ---Special Features--- *New anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer in the original aspect ratio *New and improved optional English subtitles *Original French trailer *Full-colour 40-page booklet including a lengthy interview with Dumont on the making of the film, and Dumont's work-notes created during production, in new English translations.

But Pialat's second feature, Nous Ne Viellirons Pas Ensemble does exactly that, encapsulating all the turmoil, and the final end-point, of a couple who among themselves once made a commitment - and living together will come to make another one yet. Jean (Jeane Yanne, of Godard's Weekend) and Catherine (Marlene Jobert, of Godard's Masculin Feminin) are the couple whose every move charts an advancement deeper into an emotional warzone. Theirs is the classic and the tragic case of an emotional abuse centered around a perplexing, but powerful, interdependency. At last the point arrives that determines the relationship, with all its weekend holidays, its apologies and submissions, can go no further - and, in a final shot of genius, Pialat discloses all the ways in which the future might be at once liberated, and enslaved, by the past. Based on a novel by Pialat himself, and on the trauma of his own personal life in the years leading up to the film, Nous Ne Viellirons Pas Ensemble was a smash-hit at the time of its release - and yet is arguably one of the most upsetting films ever made. Psych: The Complete Fourth Season

Psych: The Complete Fourth Season Review

Psych: The Complete Fourth Season Feature

  • Condition: New
  • Format: DVD
  • AC-3; Box set; Color; Dolby; DVD; Subtitled; Widescreen; NTSC
Psych offers the cable equivalent of comfort food. The show throws few curve balls--there's no need to revamp a winning formula--and Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) are always good company (granted, Roday remains a shameless mugger, but Hill provides the perfect foil). Among their escapades in year 4, the duo travels to Canada to catch a thief (Cary Elwes), to the land of the rich to solve a murder (with Christine Baranski as the widow), and to the Old West to stop a vandal (with James Brolin as the sheriff).

As usual, the scary episodes stand out in the Scooby Doo-like way they blend humor with horror. This year, the detectives join forces with a priest (Ray Wise, well cast after his turn as Satan on Reaper), a self-described werewolf (Josh Malina), and their old nemesis Yang (Ally Sheedy), inspiring riffs on The Exorcist, Psycho, and other genre classics. They also have fun with music-themed stories, such as a case that works in some R&B stylings from Roday, Hill, Jaleel White, and SNL's Kenan Thompson. Plus, Boyz II Men gives the theme song some new jack swing (another episode gives it a Bollywood twist).

On the personal front, Gus and Henry (Corbin Bernsen) play the field, while Shawn continues to see Abigail (Rachel Leigh Cook), though he and Juliet (Maggie Lawson, Roday's real-life partner) still have feelings for each other. Like previous sets, this one comes loaded with extras: deleted scenes, a gag reel, entertaining audio commentaries, and insightful video commentaries. The latter feature, in which the writers hold sway, should hold special interest for fans and prospective screenwriters alike. Despite a few filler episodes, creator Steve Franks and crew deliver another enjoyable season--which ends on a chilling note. --Kathleen C. Fennessy Smart. Scientific. Psychic? The decidedly distinctive team of Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and Burton Guster (Dulé Hill) from Psych P.I. are back for more laughs, more mystery, and more highly unusual cases in every wildly entertaining episode of Season Four. They might disagree, but they can always depend on each other. In this captivating season of whimsical and wonderful whodunits, their friendship and their business will be put to the test by a slew of potential culprits that include werewolves, ghosts, a shark, and those they trust the most. Guest-starring Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes), James Brolin (Catch Me If You Can), Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That) and Ally Sheedy (The Breakfast Club), Psych continues to captivate viewers with the quirkiest detective duo to ever take on a case.

Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete First Season

Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete First Season Review

Tough & smart. Edgy & humorous. Rizzoli & Isles. Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander star as combative, working-class Boston detective Jane Rizzoli and cool, cerebral medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles in an exciting police procedural with a compelling point of view, based on the bestselling novels by Tess Gerritsen. The two women have each other's backs as they investigate their city’s grittiest and most puzzling homicides, from the Back Bay to back alleys. The high-caliber supporting cast includes Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos) as Jane’s overprotective mom. Some best friends shop together, some meet for Mojitos, some join book clubs. Rizzoli and Isles bust crime.
